Treeg al Shat has always been one of the prettiest places in Tripoli in my eyes. I remember going roller blading there with my cousins and spending long evenings by the sea breeze and surrounded by food vendors and awkward couples. I went back last summer and was heartbroken to see the buzz and the crowds so full of life be replaced by deadly silence and destruction. The little me roller blading across the promenade felt a stab of pain and 7asra for how one of my favourite places became. I stood there heartbroken as I watched the bride of the mediterranean turn into an old grandma, ripped apart by its children and deprived of its glory. Oh Tripoli, what have they done to you?
